Your dream does not have to make you money.

Yesterday we had our first call for this round of the Kindhearted Badass™️ Mastermind.

We have a member who is retirement age (I promised I wouldn’t divulge her age, although ladies, be proud of your age). She said she was feeling inadequate and undereducated compared to the rest of the members of the group.

When we dove into that with her, she said she didn’t have any college degrees (neither do I, btw), she’s lacking in understanding technology (me too, and I’m 40 😅), and that everyone else’s dreams were business related and she doesn’t want to start a business because she’s retired.

The dream she brought to the mastermind is to obtain a lake cottage she can eventually retire to (her husband still works).

Let me be VERY CLEAR about this: your dreams do not only have value if they’re business or money related.

My farm dreams had nothing to do with business or money (except costing me a bunch of it 🤣).

I wanted to live this lifestyle. I wanted to raise my kids with more freedom than a subdivision could provide. I wanted to be out in the middle of nowhere, where it’s quiet and peaceful. I wanted to have whatever animals I want without any city ordinances telling me otherwise.

I have ADHD and get overstimulated very easily. I don’t like crowds. I don’t like the city or the suburbs. I loathe traffic. Don’t ask me to ever drive you somewhere in rush hour because I’m just going to call you an Uber. I’m not doing it.

My dream to have this property and live this way had absolutely nothing to do with making money.

Two years later, am I starting a flower farm? Yes. Will it make money (eventually…)? I hope so.

But that was not the core dream. Living in the country was the core dream.

Please please please, if you’re feeling inadequate about your dreams … stop. Right now.
